Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. In those rare instances when we might not meet your expectations, I promise two things: First, that it was not for lack of effort, for negligence or merely for dereliction of duty. Events - It is with great pleasure that we announce the reopening of Rafagino Restaurant this Friday, June 12th.

It has been 12 weeks since we ceased operations and we couldn't be happier to once again resume serving our neighborhood and our fantastic clients.

It won't be easy to bring a shuttered and moribund restaurant back to full operation in a little over 48 hours but we absolutely welcome the challenge. Our team members along with our vendors will all work tirelessly to make sure that it happens.

As our notion of 'normal" was shattered by this pandemic, we move forward fully acknowledging that in order to continue protecting the health of our staff, our guests in general and particularly the most vulnerable members of our clientele, our new normal dining experience must follow CDC and Virginia Health Department mandated guidelines for responsible social interaction. In order to achieve this objective we will need help from all of you maintaining social distancing, restricting stand up movement and making reservations. With only 50% occupancy allowed at any moment inside the restaurant, we discourage any type of walk in as that could lead to people unnecessarily and dangerously having to wait around for a staff member or for a table. And please be understanding and forgive us in advance if at any given time we will not be able to accommodate a reservation as we can only sit just under 30 people. Please be flexible with your requested dining times.

Please bear with us as we attempt to fully implement these precautions while limiting their negative impact on your dining experience. I have a feeling that we will all suffer from some form of cognitive dissonance as we are faced with the need to reconnect and feel normal while at the same time realizing that things are no longer normal and the danger is still lurking. In the end, I am confident that our humanity, empathy, optimism and hopefulness will win the day and we will all be stronger and feel better for being all together again.

  This month wine pairing dinner will be held on Sunday June 28th and it will feature the city of Bologna and the surrounding region of Emilia-Romagna.This is the food capital of Italy; Bologna (known for its Bolognese sauce, lasagna and its Mortadella), Parma (famous for its Prosciutto di Parma and Parmesan cheese), Modena (famous for its aged balsamic vinegar), Ferrara (famous for its chocolate), Rimini and Riccione (famous for its seafood as well as its beach resorts). As if that wasn't enough, this region is home to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati.

The most famous wines from this region are the white Albano, Trebbiano and Malvasia as well as reds such as Lambrusco, Sangiovese, Bonarda and Barbera.

We hope you'll be able to join us as we rediscover this region of Italy. This will be a delicious dinner.
